Parents Committee

We have a very active, supportive Parents’ Association whose involvement is extremely important for the smooth running of the school. Ongoing fundraising projects provide us with vital equipment for our classrooms. One of the current targets is to raise enough by collecting loose change on Fridays to pay for  extra computer equipment for the schools. Other projects include a Coffee Morning on the day the school opens,  a Christmas Coffee Morning, Clothes recycling, an Art & Craft Display, the Monthly Draw and regular, practical assistance with school events such as the Book Fair, concerts, play ground activities etc. New parents are encouraged to join. Meetings are held in the school on the second Monday of each month.

Christmas Coffee Morning

The Christmas coffee morning is organised by the Parents Council as a means of raising funds for the school. It takes place in the beginning of December.  It takes place two weeks before the holidays in the school hall. Parents volunteer to ensure the smooth running of the morning.

Arts & Crafts Exhibition

Each year, the Parents’ Council collects samples of the children’s art and craft and arranges a display in the hall. All parents and families are invited to come along to see the children’s work. The exhibition is always a huge success as it gives teachers, students and parents the opportunity to see all of the fantastic work completed during the school year together. As well as putting all of the artwork on display, the Parents Council also organise a raffle with fantastic prizes, which are on display in the hall during the exhibition.

Monthly Draw

The Parents Association also organise a monthly draw. The monthly draw takes place from September to June. It is €15 for the year, or €8 for half a year. There are four prizes for the draw. First prize is €40, second, third and fourth prize are €20. The draw takes place at the meetings which are held every second Monday. The cheque is written and given to the daughter of the winner.

Easter Raffle

The Easter raffle takes place the week before the school holidays. There is a small egg for each class to be raffled and a larger whole school egg is raffled also. Once you have entered the draw for the class raffle you automatically go into the draw for the large egg. It is €2 per ticket.

Friday-Loose Change

Any available loose change is collected on a Friday afternoon by two chosen students. The money is collected to raise funds for extra I.T equipment.

Reindeer Food

For Christmas the council put together Reindeer food to sell to the children. The children can sprinkle it out in their garden on Christmas Eve so that Santa's helpers won't go hungry! The idea was started in 2010. The food is sold from the 1st of December at €2 per bag. The parents make 200 bags to be sold in our school.

Liberties Clothes Recycling

There is a day organised where the children and parents can bring in old clothes to be recycled. This takes place 2-3 times per school year. There is a drop off station set up at the school gates to collect the clothes. The bags are collected at 9.15am sharp. Any bags brought after this time will not be collected.
