Who was she?

Mother Mary Aikenhead was a kind, committed, and cordial woman who founded the Sisters of Charity. Her love for others was rooted in her faith which began at an early age. She loved and cared for all, especially the poor and brought about the establishment of schools (like ours), hospitals, and orphanages.

Here at Assumption Senior Girls' National School we celebrate the life and commitment of Mother Mary Aikenhead every year with a very special assembly dedicated to her and all that she achieved throughout her life.
