Getting a head-start on language learning:

We have been innovating with languages at Assumption Senior G.N.S the last number of years, trying to make it more engaging and enjoyable for the students, as well as giving them a foot-forward for secondary school. We have made classes in Spanish, French and German available to our students alongside Irish. To make the classes more exciting we have built-in using Toontastic animations to bring language conversation practice to life! This programme has been so successful that it brought RTÉ's news2day to the school to do a feature piece on it.

Irish Learning - Ag Caint le Cairde

For our Irish conversation lessons in 5th and 6th class we have our Ag Caint le Cairde books, custom written and designed by our principal Mr. Hanley for our school. It is contains conversations designed around the ten themes in the Primary School Irish Language curriculum. By writing it for our students it allows the conversations to build on the information in the curriculum, but in a way that is relevant and interesting to the girls at Assumption Senior G.N.S. Ag Caint le Cairde is focused on making Irish conversation lessons interesting and engaging for our students as well as being easy to integrate into the day-to-day lessons and classroom activities of the school.
