1st of April 2020

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all doing well this week. Please keep all your work in a copy/notebook and if possible upload to Seesaw. Remember instructions to access books are on school website and Seesaw.  All you can do is your best! Keep up the great work!
Maths:
  • Access Mathemagic 6 on the CJ Fallon website online.
  • Chapter 28 Money complete pg.119 and as much of pg. 120 as possible.
  • Write out 5 sets of tables – division or multiplication – that you feel you need to practice the most. If you have someone at home who has time to quiz you on them have a go!
Gaeilge:
  • Access YouTube and revise your songs as Gaeilge that you have done this year
  • Watch the Home School Hub for 5th and 6th class on the RTE Player (the last 25 mins apply to 6th class with Múinteoir Clíona) and see can you make your own fortune teller as gaeilge – make up simple questions using cé, cad, ceard agus cathain?
English:
Reading & Writing:
  • Read Unit 25: The Rat and Renovations or Unit 26: The Hook
  • Whichever story you choose to read, answer sections A-E
Oral Language:
  • This is a very important time to check in with grandparents or older relatives, maybe not in person but over the phone in some form. Make a list of 10 questions you would ask your grandparent about their life experience. If possible, do the interview with your grandparent and write out your interview so you have your own piece of history!
History:
  • Access Window on the World 6 on the EDCO website. Read Chapter 5: The Maoris pg.33. Complete questions 1-11 on pg.37
  • Complete one of the creative activities on pg.37 also
  • Do some research of your own and find 10 fascinating facts on the Maoris
Geography:
  • Make sure you’re staying up to date on your geographical knowledge by visiting seterra.com online where you can quiz yourself on the Irish counties, towns, European countries, European capitals and a range of other games.
Science:
  • https://explorify.wellcome.ac.uk/ is a great website where you can test out your skills of observation and explore science experiments online however you will need a parent to set up an account for you.
  • https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/menu/videos/ have a watch of one of the amazing videos NASA has on space. Create a fact file based on the video. Write down 10 detailed facts and illustrate your fact file!
Drama:
  • Take the title The Best Day Ever and make your own speech based on it, create a little improvisation (with others at home if they’re happy to get involved) or create a scene/mime with one other person or on your own. Maybe perform your work for an audience at home. Remember never turn your back to the audience and make sure you speak clearly for all to hear!
